Downtown Boise Summer Events!

Downtown Boise’s Signature Summer Events are back, and they are better than ever! The pulse and vibrancy have returned to the region's central hub, the heart. Downtown Boise Association (DBA) responds with the renewed summer lineup. Starting with an exciting partnership with the folks behind Treefort. Furthermore, answering the requests for an elevated music experience at Alive After 5. Likewise, The Father’s Day Car Show is back, answering the call for family-friendly, free entertainment. Moreover, Supersized First Thursday, a celebrated addition in 2021, will return this month.

On behalf of the members and merchants of Downtown Boise, Jennifer Hensley shared that they are incredibly excited to announce the summer lineup. Listening to the community in 2021 – through countless conversations and an in-depth survey process where over 2,700 the shared passion and positive outlook for the downtown.

Getting ready to bring Downtown Boise’s new vision to life where Downtown Boise is a place to explore. Find a new adventure, spark creativity, make connections, and be a part of Boise’s vibrant culture where all are welcome.

Supersized First Thursday

May, June, August, September, and October 2022

First Thursday is an opportunity for the community to visit Downtown Boise. Businesses will be open to experiencing art, shopping, dining, and entertainment in a unique way. Thanks to support from Columbia Bank, the First Thursday event will be “Supersized.” They will include additional roving performances, music, and activation throughout downtown. In addition, DBA will partner with performing artists and nonprofit organizations to create an enhanced experience for community members visiting downtown between 5 pm – 9 pm on the first Thursday of all month starting May until October.

In the kickoff event of DBA’s “Supersized” First Thursday series of 2022, downtown businesses will play host to local nonprofits engaging the public as part of their Idaho Gives campaigns. It includes a pop-up with eating challenges, games, information sharing, and local radio station Mix 106 broadcasting live from The Grove Plaza for a portion of the evening.

Festivities start at The Grove Plaza at 5 pm and continue throughout the evening. Details for this and upcoming months can be found on the Supersized First Thursday event page at downtownboise.org. In addition, anyone interested in performing at a future Supersized First Thursday can discover the artist calls here.

Father’s Day Car Show

The 19th Annual Downtown Boise Father’s Day Car Show is like no other. Celebrating transportation, both past, and future, alongside downtown’s vibrant food and shopping scene, in the heart of Idaho’s beautiful Capital City!

The Father’s Day Car Show celebrates and educates, excites, and intrigues. So treat your Dad to brunch, shop for a Father’s Day gift, and browse an exciting display of classic and electric cars. Moreover, Car Show admittance is accessible to the public.

What’s different about the Downtown Boise Father’s Day Car Show?

Downtown Boise is always bustling with people, which means a growing number of transportation options are most visible downtown. The show features dozens of beautiful classic cars dating back decades, plus a surprising variety of today’s most modern electric vehicles.

Each car has a story, whether it’s the latest in sustainable technology or the stories of families who have cherished their classic automobile for generations.

Alive After 5

Alive After 5, presented by United Site Services, returns on June 15 to the beautiful Grove Plaza in the heart of Downtown Boise. 2022 marks the 35th anniversary of Downtown Boise producing the free summer concert series, a celebration of summer and great music that brings a lineup of fun and fresh talent on select Wednesdays during June, July, and August.

From the widely successful group that brings you Treefort, Downtown Boise Foundation is thrilled to announce a partnership with local music booking agency Duck Club to bring new and exciting bands to perform at Alive After five this year. The lineup of musicians will be announced through Downtown Boise’s social media channels in the coming weeks, with a final lineup list to be released before the first concert.

This Program is a much-loved tradition that goes hand-in-hand with Alive After 5. Catch Idaho and Boise Bicycle Project, two local nonprofit organizations. This year’s beneficiaries of all tips collected at the bar during the Alive After five concerts. Tips can be donated at the point of sale on The Grove Plaza when purchasing merchandise or beverages.
