Sex Talk at the Dinner Table – Portland, Oregon

THE MYSTERY BOX SOCIAL ENCOURAGES SEX TALK OVER DINNER

Portland knows that The Mystery Box Show is where audiences can expect honest, open, and inclusive storytelling about sex and sexuality. On Saturday, December 7th, the live show’s companion dinner club returns, inviting guests to get up close and personal with past storytellers in an elegant dining experience at the home of the show’s producers.

An evening at The Mystery Box Social (named for the early-20th-century tradition) begins with signature cocktails and appetizers, followed by two courses and dessert. All dietary needs are taken into account by Executive Producer Reba Sparrow, who also serves as the evening’s chef.

Each evening features two special guests who have shared their stories live at the Mystery Box Show. Throughout the evening, attendees are treated to a screening of the storytellers’ performances, which quickly becomes a launchpad into the conversation about each story’s sexual themes. The goal is to normalize the conversation about sex and sexuality, removing the stigma from openly talking about intimate subjects frankly.

The conversation lasts deep into the night, creating an open space for people of all sexual orientations and sexual expression. LGBTQ+ friendly and welcoming to any relationship style, often seeing monogamous couples sitting alongside polyamorous couples (and thruples!), the evening finds connection and community through our shared emotions around sex and sexuality.

Contributing to the evening’s dining experience are local vendors, Portland Syrups, Ram Cellars Winery, and Missionary Chocolates.

December 7th’s Mystery Box Social will feature audience favorite storyteller Ajé Summerly and Sister of Perpetual Indulgence, Noah Gabreel.

Tickets are available at mysteryboxshow.com. Seating is limited, and they often sell out quickly.

The next Mystery Box Social occurs just before Valentine’s Day, on Saturday, February 8th, 2020, and continuing every other month. Current available dates are always posted at mysteryboxshow.com
