Tickets Are On Sale NOW For Feast Portland 2016!

 

You can now purchase tickets for Feast Portland 2016, one of the nation’s largest and most stellar culinary festivals, which will take place at various locations throughout the city September 15 - 18. Feast Portland 2016 is the culmination of 40+ foodie events, including classes, dinners, tastings, and panels. And it’s all for a wonderful cause – supporting the efforts of Partners for A Hunger Free Oregon, including school breakfast programs. The gathering, which is in its 5th year, has raised over $231,000 so far for programs working to end childhood hunger.

Bon Appétit Magazine is the National Media Sponsor for Feast Portland, and Portland Monthly, Seattle Met, Travel Oregon, Whole Foods Market, The Oregonian, USA Pears, Tillamook and Alaska Airlines are also presenting sponsors. Each organization plays an intrinsic role in the look and feel (and taste!) of the occasion.

Feast Portland 2016 will include the participation of over 100 chefs from the area and around the globe! Local chefs will include Gabriel Rucker of Le Pigeon, Patrick Fleming of Boke Bowl, Ryan Fox of Nomad.PDX, and Troy MacLarty of Bollywood Theater. Visiting chefs will be from destinations like Seattle, Austin, Chicago, Toronto, Cambridge and Tokyo.

Here are some not-to-miss Feast Portland 2016 happenings:

  • The Sandwich Invitational sponsored by Portland Monthly Magazine (Thursday, September 15, 6 – 9 pm) will be held on the East Side at the Rose Quarter Commons. There will be craft brews, cocktails and wines as celebrity chefs try to make the three point shot at creating the best thing since … well, you know. Along with an esteemed panel of judges, you get to vote on the supreme sandwich.
  • The Friday Grand Tasting with be Friday, September 16, 1 - 5 pm at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Take a culinary road trip with artisans like Bliss Nut Butters, Nossa Familia Coffee, Oregon Brineworks, Salt & Straw and Xocolatl de Davíd. Sample craft brews, ciders and wines, and get ready to explore!
  • The USA Pears Night Market Presented by Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® Card will be held again this year at the South Waterfront’s Zidell Yards on Friday, September 16, 6 - 9 pm. The theme will be Playful Latin Cooking, and delicious bites of tapas, taco mashups and Argentine meats will get the party started right.
  • The Saturday Grand Tasting will be on Pioneer Courthouse Square on Saturday, September 17, 12 - 5 pm. Did you get a chance to try Decadent Creations Bakery, NuCulture Foods, Ranger Chocolate Company and Rogue Creamery? What about wines from Montinore Estate or Sokol Blosser Winery? And microbrews from Base Camp Brewing Company or Yachats Brewing?
  • Oregonian Media Group Smoked! Presented by Tillamook will be Saturday, September 17, 6 - 9 pm at The Fields (unfortunately this is SOLD OUT). For next year, book early and look forward to an evening event that is so much more than a cookout! The best chefs prepare their finest and most satisfying cuts of meat, fish and fowl in an outdoor setting complete with refreshingly cold drinks.                                                                 
  • Brunch Village Presented by Whole Foods Market on Sunday, September 18, 11 am - 2 pm at Pioneer Courthouse Square will focus on Portland’s favorite meal. This year’s Brunch Village will feature international breakfast foods, including picks from Japan, Southeast Asia, Spain and classic American cuisine. Enjoy offerings from producers like Stumptown Coffee Roasters, Sunshine Dairy, Breville USA and Nature’s Path.

Exciting news:  Feast Portland 2016 will include four new Fun-Size Events listed below (bigger than a dinner, smaller than a main event).

  • Franklin Barbecue & Family on Friday, September 16, 4 - 7 pm (SOLD OUT) is location TBA, but will feature the creations of James Beard Award-winning Texas pitmaster Aaron Franklin.
  • Eat Your Feelings – The Noodle Edition, also on Friday, September 16, 4 - 7 pm (also SOLD OUT) at Han Oak Restaurant will celebrate slurpable comfort food with the lengthy works of three chefs.
  • Peace, Love and Cocktails will be held Friday, September 16, 5 - 8 pm at House Spirits Distillery.  
  • The Go Get You Some Picnic will be a Southern-style outdoor meal centered around Fried Chicken and favorite sides on Sunday, September 18, 1 - 4 pm at Stumptown Coffee Roasters.
