It is always challenging deciding where to take out-of-town guests, especially when it comes to the growing number of dining choices in Boise. We try to bring them to unique restaurants to show how cool Boise is and how good the food can be! The Saint Lawrence Gridiron is downtown directly across from the Capitol, which is a wonderful location to show visitors the sights. Its very lively atmosphere exudes hip and cool.

Both indoor and outdoor patio dining made this the perfect restaurant to bring our friend for Sunday Brunch. It was really busy on the patio that beautiful morning, so we opted to sit inside and started with Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice and Cocktails. We loved the spicy Mother Mary made with Belvedere Vodka and house Bloody Mary mix, garnished with carrots, bacon, olives, house made pickles, pickled okra, seasoned salt and brisket. It went down easy and was the perfect accompaniment to our brunch.

We ordered the Potato Donuts topped with cinnamon sugar and orange glaze to start, as we are proponents of dessert first. We loved these diet-busting tasty treats and were not starving as we relaxed and sipped our cocktails while waiting for our brunch entrées. Our favorite was the Brisket Benedict made with perfectly poached eggs, roasted red bell peppers, pickles and brisket on an English muffin topped with a delicious Hollandaise sauce. The Pepper Biscuits and Sausage Gravy with poached eggs and potatoes was also a tasty entrée. Next time we will try the Steak and Eggs or Shrimp and Grits that we noticed other happy diners enjoying.

Saint Lawrence Gridiron is perfect for both locals and visitors, open for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and two happy hours: 4 pm - 6 pm and 9 pm - close. The yummy food and cool vibe have us looking forward to returning.
