You don’t need to hop a plane to Ireland to celebrate the country’s patron saint in style. A handful of Seattle’s best pubs and sports bars have got your St. Patrick’s Day plans covered! Dig out your favorite green attire (if only to avoid getting pinched) and take advantage of these three excellent excuses to chug a few pints. Sláinte!

Ballard Loft | 5105 Ballard Ave NW | 206-420-2737

Warm up for the big day at the St. Practice Day Bar Crawl through Ballard on Saturday, March 11. The event takes place from 1-5 p.m. and is sponsored by Rainier Beer and Underdog Sports Leagues… so, of course, your ticket will include a cold one and plenty of swag! You’ll also be granted admission to 5 participating bars (including Ballard Loft), where you can take advantage of screaming deals on drinks. Rally your drinking buddies and meet at the Loft before making your way to Conor Byrne Pub, Kangaroo & Kiwi Pub, King's Hardware, and Market Arms.

Come March 17, join Ballard Loft for its 9th Annual Race to the Taps St. Patrick’s Day celebration! Arrive at 6 a.m. to receive a FREE Irish Breakfast (served until 10 a.m.)! Then be the first in the city to kick off the day’s festivities with a Guinness toast at 6:20 a.m. Toast attendees will receive VIP status and $2 off Guinness pints all day and night. The “race” element comes in during a voluntary Pint Chug contest (don’t worry, no running involved here!). The stakes are high: the winner will receive $2 off Guinness pints ALL YEAR at the Loft.

Additional event highlights include $1 off Jameson, NCAA basketball on the big screens, and tunes from DJ KippRawk starting at 10 p.m. Come celebrate all day, or fill up on free breakfast before work and return in the evening for pints galore!

Belltown Pub | 2322 1st Ave | 206-448-6210

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t just a day at Belltown Pub; it’s an entire weekend. The party keeps going from early Friday to late night close on Sunday. Don your green garb and prepare to get your grub on. Fill up on Irish-inspired brunch, lunch, and dinner renditions between pints of Guinness and green beer, including plenty of corned beef, cabbage, sausages, and potatoes. Enjoy specialty cocktails such as the Dublin Sparkle (Sparkling Champagne & Midori), throw back a round of Jello shots with friends, or sip on a classic Irish coffee. Come for the food and drinks, but be sure to stick around for the shenanigans.

Pike Brewing Company | 1415 1st Ave | 206-622-6044

Pop into Post Alley’s Pike Brewing Company, where the taps will be flowing and the doors will stay open all day and into the evening. Chow down on bar fare inside the Pike Pub, then belly up to the bar for another ale or two (or three or four). The holiday spirit will soar when the Elliott Bay Pipe Band joins the party at 5:30, followed by a live performance from Annie O’Neill and Friends until 10 p.m. Check out the event page for menu specials, beer specials, and more details.

Teddy's Bigger Burgers | 17705 140th Ave NE | 425-408-1604

Head to the Woodinville location of this popular Hawaiian burger joint for a little Luck of the Irish! Behold the March Burger of the Month: Teddy's thick-and-juicy original chuck burger topped with corned beef, swiss cheese, lettuce, onions, tomato, and Teddy's special sauce. Though you can never have too much meaty goodness, corned beef purists can hold the patty and enjoy a festive sammie.
