Whether you find yourself in Ballard, Belltown, Capitol Hill, Downtown, or Queen Anne after nightfall, these five dining picks are your grumbling stomach’s insurance until the clock strikes midnight (and beyond). “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise” may be the old standard, but these spots beg to differ. Staying up late is about to pay off.

Capitol Cider | 818 E Pike St | 206-397-3564

This Capitol Hill joint boasts a gluten-free menu featuring an extensive hard cider list. Ask your bartender or waitstaff for a cider pairing recommendation to complement your dish of choice, or simply refer to the handy pairing notes included on several of Capitol Cider’s menus. Dinner is served until 10 p.m. every night before the kitchen rotates to the special late night menu until midnight. Sink your teeth into a mushroom swiss burger with a fresh, locally made, gluten-free Manini’s bun, or opt for a handful of $5 bites and drinks during late night happy hour (Sundays through Thursdays from 11-midnight).

The Gerald | 5210 Ballard Ave NW | 206-432-9280

The after-dark Ballard hotspot keeps its doors open late for bar-hopping crowds. From 10:30 to close, all appetizers, draft beer, house wines, and well drinks are just $5. If ever there was a time for grazing, this is it! Order poutine, fried cheese curds, chicken wings, or all of the above and enjoy your midnight snack with a pint or a pour of your choice.

Lecosho | 89 University St | 206-623-2101

Hamburgers and late-night dining practically go together like pancakes and brunch, and Lecosho’s Painted Hills Burger affirms this in all its thick-and-juicy, cheesy, saucy, half-pound glory. Other craving-savers include the perfectly salty porchetta sandwich, cheese board sampler, and charcuterie with all the pickled veggies and cured meats you can eat.

Peso's Kitchen and Lounge | 605 Queen Anne Ave N | 206-283-9353

On any given night, while half the city is asleep, Peso’s is serving until either midnight or 2 a.m. Don’t miss out on Mexican munchies, especially during late-night happy hour from 10 to 1 a.m., when select domestic beers are just $4, and your favorite bottled or draft brew or cocktail isn’t far beyond that ballpark (ahem… check out the margarita list while you’re at it). Nibble on chips and salsa and nachos, or take a gander at several pages’ worth of generous night owl deals including taco plates, burritos, and much more.

Pintxo | 2207 2nd Avenue | 206-441-4042

Pintxo cranks out big flavor from its pint-sized kitchen in Belltown. Look no further for your after-hours tapas fix. The Lamb Kefta Sliders are sure to please (Moroccan spiced ground lamb, roasted tomato and pepper, microgreens, and harissa aioli served on brioche), but if you must opt for a bite of the Tortilla, we won’t judge (though it isn’t the tortilla you might expect, this traditional Spanish omelet belongs on your dining bucket list).
