At Petra Mediterranean Bistro in Belltown, you will find more than delicious exotic cuisine from Jordan, Turkey and the Mediterranean - nearly everything on the menu is gluten-free!
Before we get into the tasty food and drinks you can enjoy at this eatery, I want to highlight the story behind this established Mediterranean restaurant…
The name of the restaurant is inspired by the ancient Nabatean capital of Petra, the Rose City of Jordan and one of the “New” Seven Wonders of the World. The restaurant’s owner and chef, Khal Beleh, was born and raised in Amman, Jordan, and brings the food experiences of his upbringing to the authentic dishes served at his Seattle restaurant. “I want to provide our guests with delicious authentic cuisines, lifting the veil on ancient flavors and spices, so our guests may have the full experience of history, culture and tasty food,” he said.
Petra Bistro’s approach to cuisine incorporates the traditional dishes and flavors from Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Greece and Northern Africa. The appetizer menu features Mediterranean, Jordanian and Turkish dishes like Falafel, Labnie, Zahra, Baba Ghanouje and Dolmathes. It also includes some Americanized favorites such as hot wings, fries, and calamari, but these are all executed with a Petra Bistro twist. From Tabouli and the Fatouche Salad to the Gyro Salad, Petra Bistro offers several options for a crisp salad pre-entree or as a meal.
The entree menu at Petra Bistro features authentic ethnic dishes from this region of the world, such as Shish Tawook, Ouzi, Spanakopita, Kabobs, and Shawarma. There is a tasty selection of vegetarian menu items, as well as plenty of variety with dishes featuring chicken, beef, lamb, salmon, and prawns. Save room for dessert! Petra Bistro’s Baklava is to-die-for!
