Dear Fellow Americans,
We have so much to be thankful for on this Fourth of July, our Freedom. I am proud to live in this great country where freedom of speech, freedom to gather and the freedom to fight for those basic human rights ring more true every day. We are eternally grateful to all of our brave veterans and active service men and women who have made this freedom possible for each and every one of us.
As we celebrate today, please keep in mind that the freedoms of each individual in this country are still not recognized. We will not truly be a free country until we are all equal in the eyes of each other. There is still a long road ahead of us. Women, people of color, LGBTQ, immigrants and the poor still face daily discrimination.
When you gather today around food and fireworks today celebrate each others differences and celebrate that which we have in common - this country, the United States of America!
Sharing food and our stories brings us together. Tell us yours!
Have a safe holiday,
Jason Staats
