Happy Taco Tuesday: Seattle Edition

Who doesn't love tacos? I sure do!  Give me a fish taco in one hand and a strawberry margarita in the other and I am one happy camper!  Here’s a list of some of my favorite places in town to chow down on some killer tacos.

The Lost Pelican (Belltown): You might not think to visit a Southern restaurant for tacos, but I challenge you to try the catfish tacos before you judge. These grilled fish tacos with a mango salsa will knock your socks off and leave your taste buds thanking you!  And you can score two of these bad boys for just $5 during happy hour, every day from  3 pm - 7 pm, and 10 pm - close.

Peso’s Kitchen & Lounge (Queen Anne): One of Seattle’s hippest hangouts, Peso’s is a favorite place to grab some chicken, lime and avocado soup or a mojito. But back to the tacos! Choose from chicken, carne asada, shrimp, rockfish or house-made chorizo and expect fresh made tortillas and pico de gallo! Get two tacos of your choice for $4 - $5 during happy hour, every day from 4 pm - 6 pm, and 10 pm - 1 am.

Poquitos (Capitol Hill): I must admit it was the guacamole that got me hooked on Poquitos in Capitol Hill, but I keep coming back for their tacos! (Well that and the fact that it’s quite possibly my favorite patio in Capitol Hill). One day last summer I fell in love with their Al Pastor Tacos, which are composed of marinated pork, pineapple, pickled onion & cilantro. I’m not usually a cilantro fan, but it just works. Enjoy Taco Hour here every day from 3 pm - 4 pm, followed by regular happy hour from 4 pm - 6 pm, where you can nosh on a plate of two tacos for just $5.

Cactus (Alki, Bellevue, Kirkland, South Lake Union): It wouldn't be right to put together a Taco Tuesday list without Cactus. They offer a fabulous happy hour weekdays from 3 pm - 6 pm and weekends from 3 pm - 5 pm, and it’s there that you can score their truly awesome Mexican Street Tacos for just $6.  These babies are prepared with their house-made corn tortillas and you’ll receive one of each: house-made chorizo carnitas Yucatecas & spicy potato rajas. Now I hate to play favorites, but I will say that the chorizo is always the first one to disappear from my plate!
