In the Know: Ringside Eastside Set to Ring in New Year with New Concept: The Ringside Grill

RingSide Grill Renovations to Begin January 1, 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RingSide Steakhouse Eastside, located at the Glendoveer Golf Course in Northeast Portland, will be celebrating its final night as a Steakhouse on New Year's Eve.  Renovations will begin on January 1stand the restaurant will reopen as RingSide Grill in spring 2015.

Born with the DNA of America’s Great Steakhouses, The Ringside Grill will serve lunch, dinner and a lively happy hour 7 days a week. The restaurant will use local, farm fresh, natural and sustainable product whenever possible - bringing compelling food and craft cocktails with its renowned service to the new endeavor.

"RingSide Steakhouse Eastside has always been special to us," explains partner Craig Peterson. "It was the first big undertaking for my brother Scott and me having handled the bulk of operations since its opening in 1979. With the success our father Wes had at our Uptown location, the bar was set fairly high."

The Peterson Family had no need to worry, as the Glendoveer location not only exceeded the expectations of the family, but also of the Eastside community who made the restaurant a destination for 36 years. As the landscape on the Eastside evolved into a melting pot of first time homeowners, new parents and long time residents, the RingSide Hospitality Groupfelt it was time for a change. The Grill's menu will be approachable in pricing and choices for the growing number of guests who enjoy family-style dining. It will feature wood-fired items such as house-made flatbreads, casseroles and seafood dishes. The restaurant will also offer a great children’s menu and frozen custard for the younger patrons. Traditional RingSide items will remain on the menu like Dry Aged Steak and the world famous onion rings.

The building itself will also be transformed to fit the new RingSide Grill concept. Renovations include an updated main dining room – adding windows, modern lighting and new surface treatments. A new casual dining area will be added with a private patio located off the expanded bar. RingSide Steakhouse Eastside will celebrate its 35-year history throughDecember 31, 2014, and will reopen as RingSide Grill in spring 2015.
