Oregon Wine Month Features Special Events, Promotions, Tastings, Flights and More at Wineries, Restaurant and Retailers throughout the Northwest

May is Oregon Wine Month, 31 days officially dedicated to Oregon wine tasting, wine learning and wine loving. Now in its sixth year and presented by the Oregon Wine Board, Oregon Wine Month is an opportunity to experience and celebrate the quality and diversity of Oregon wine through unique events and experiences around Oregon and beyond.

Oregon wines are internationally lauded by sommeliers and chefs for being incredibly food-friendly. Wine lovers can experience this for themselves in several ways during Oregon Wine Month, including tasting exceptional Oregon wine flights at more than 100 top Northwest restaurants, access to recipes specially crafted by Oregon Wine A-List award-winning chefs to pair with Oregon wines, and the chance to win an incredible Oregon Wine & Food Getaway.

Oregon Wine at Restaurants, Retailers and at Home:

Many restaurants are celebrating Oregon Wine Month this year by featuring a unique flight of three Oregon wines, in partnership with OpenTable. Sommeliers are creating flights of off-the-beaten-path varieties, vintage verticals, single vineyard comparisons, unexpected food pairings and more for Oregon Wine Month. The featured wines are entirely up to the restaurant to choose, so the flights are a beautiful example of the diversity and food-friendliness of Oregon wines.

Major retailers in the region will be celebrating Oregon Wine Month with featured bottles, discounted cases, and in-store tastings of Oregon wines. Find special Oregon Wine Month promotions at New Seasons, Safeway, Fred Meyer, Ray’s Food Place, and Costco throughout the month of May.

Five of Oregon’s top chefs from Oregon Wine A-List award-winning restaurants have crafted delicious and approachable recipes designed specifically to pair with Oregon’s top five wine varieties to celebrate Oregon Wine Month at home. Oregon Wine Month Events:

The Oregon wine calendar of events is packed this May for Oregon Wine Month, from special tasting room events at individual wineries, to entire communities celebrating what makes their winemaking region so special.

Calendar highlights include one-time events in many of the diverse winemaking regions of Oregon, like I Love GaMay, McMinnville Foothills Winegrowers Tasting, Walla Walla Valley Spring Release Weekend, Taste Dundee, Umpqua Valley Barrel Tour, Taste.Learn.Celebrate with Cascade Foothills Winegrowers, Roam the Rogue self-guided tour, and the PDX Urban Wine Experience. There are also many ongoing experiences that visitors can take part in anytime during Oregon Wine Month, like Passion for Ribbon Ridge Passport Tasting, Eugene Urban Wine Circuit, and Willamette Valley Taste of Community loops.

An Oregon Wine & Food Getaway:

The Oregon Wine Board has organized an Oregon Wine & Food Getaway to the Rogue Valley in celebration of Oregon Wine Month. One lucky winner and guest will spend four days and three nights in the vineyards, the kitchens and the company of some of Oregon’s most acclaimed winemakers, chefs and craftspeople for an immersive experience of Oregon’s wine and food bounty. Three runners up will win a two-month membership to Cellar 503, a wine club featuring small-production Oregon wines that are often not widely distributed.
