There are few places in America as geographically diverse, culturally rich, and endlessly surprising as Oregon.

In a single day, you can stand on a rugged Pacific beach, wander through a vineyard in the Willamette Valley, hike beneath snow-capped mountains, and watch the sunset across the high desert. Yet some of Oregon's greatest treasures are not the places found on postcards. They are the small towns, locally owned restaurants, historic landmarks, scenic byways, and hidden gems waiting to be discovered beyond the familiar destinations.
That spirit of discovery is exactly what the 2026 Oregon Treasures Quest is all about.
The Oregon Treasures Quest invites residents and visitors alike to explore the state one county at a time. Between January 1 and October 15, 2026, participants are encouraged to visit designated sites across Oregon's 36 counties, documenting their adventures with photos along the way.
The challenge is simple. Visit qualifying locations in at least ten different counties, capture a selfie with the site in the background, and submit your photos through the official Oregon Treasures Quest program.
Participants who successfully complete visits in ten counties will earn an invitation to the 2026 Oregon Treasures Quest Celebration, taking place November 14, 2026. But ask anyone who has participated before, and they'll tell you the real prize isn't the invitation. It's the journey itself.
Along the way you'll discover communities that make Oregon one of the most remarkable states in the nation. You'll meet local business owners, learn stories that shaped Oregon's history, explore landscapes that few travelers ever see, and perhaps most importantly, enjoy some incredible meals.
At Where To Eat Guide, we believe every great road trip begins with a great meal. Hospitality is about connection. It's about meeting people where they are, supporting local businesses, and creating memories around a table. Whether you're stopping for a quick lunch in Baker City, enjoying fresh seafood on the coast, or discovering a family-owned café in Eastern Oregon, every county has a story worth experiencing.
To help inspire your Oregon Treasures Quest adventure, we've created a companion guide featuring all 36 Oregon counties, along with a recommended local lunch stop in each destination. Consider it your culinary roadmap for exploring Oregon's people, places, and flavors.
Whether your goal is to visit ten counties or all thirty-six, this is your invitation to take the scenic route, support local communities, and experience Oregon through the eyes of those who call it home.
Pack your camera. Bring your curiosity. Hit the road.
Oregon's treasures are waiting.
