🟡 Where To Play
Waterfront Blues Festival Main Stages
The heart of the weekend is the music. The 2026 festival brings three stages of nonstop performances, with a lineup that moves across generations, genres, and continents. Expect blues roots, soul, funk, Americana, global rhythms, guitar-heavy collaborations, and local Portland talent woven throughout the weekend.
For a strong first-day plan, arrive early, walk the grounds, find your preferred stage zones, and build in time for food, water, shade, and the marketplace. Kids 12 and under receive free admission with an adult ticket holder, making this one of Portland’s biggest multigenerational summer events.
Blues Cruises on the Willamette River

The Blues Cruises are one of the signature ways to experience the festival. These floating parties take place aboard the Portland Spirit and feature live music, river views, food and drinks available for purchase, and a completely different perspective on the weekend.
- July 2: Big Easy Cruise with Bon Bon Vivant, Kota Dosa, and Reggie Houston’s Box of Chocolates.
- July 3: Cruisin’ to Memphis with Journey to Memphis Allstars & Finals, Billy Stoops, and Sleeper Wave.
- July 4: Sail on Sister Cruise featuring NW Women Rhythm & Blues, Ms. Vee and a Badass Band, and Mary Flower with Leon Cotter. This is a Blues Fest Cares cruise benefiting Meals on Wheels People and The Jeremy Wilson Foundation.
Blues Cruise tickets are $65, and festival admission is not required for the cruise.
Fourth of July Fireworks Over the Willamette
The Waterfront Blues Festival remains one of Portland’s most iconic Fourth of July experiences, and this year’s fireworks are presented by Lithia & Driveway. Expect musical surprises and a fireworks display over the Willamette River as the city marks America’s 250th anniversary.
For the best experience, arrive earlier than you think you need to. The waterfront fills up quickly, and the energy builds as the evening sets roll toward the fireworks finale.
Official Late Night Shows
When the festival grounds close, the music keeps moving through Portland. Official late-night shows are scheduled at nearby venues including Jack London Revue, The Downbeat, and White Eagle Saloon. These are ideal for serious music fans who want to stretch the festival into the early hours.

Local Tips for a Better Festival Weekend
- Wear real shoes. Tom McCall Waterfront Park includes sloping grass, walkways, and high-traffic areas.
- Plan for sun and river wind. A hat, sunscreen, and a light layer can all matter in the same day.
- Use transit or walk from your hotel when possible. Downtown parking will be limited and busy.
- Reserve restaurants early. Dinner windows before fireworks will be especially competitive.
- Check the official schedule before you go. Lineups and set times can change.
