Salads are often the star of summertime dining, lunch or dinner. And the arguable King of Salads in the Pacific Northwest is the Crab Louie. When it’s done right, like these local establishments do, a good Crab Louie will hit the spot for freshness, seafood cravings, and healthy deliciousness with every bite.

Chandler’s Crabhouse | 901 Fairview Avenue N | 206-223-2722

One of the best spots to enjoy crab around town, Chandler’s Crabhouse definitely has a praise-worthy Louie. Theirs is topped with Dungeness and bay shrimp, plus tomatoes, asparagus, black olives and a sliced egg drizzled with Louie dressing atop a mix of organic greens. And it’s gluten-free!

Doc’s Marina Grill | 403 Madison Avenue S | 206-842-8339

With a plate that’s piled high with mixed greens, crisp seasonal veggies such as cucumber and tomato, a generous serving of tender crab, and a couple of pickled asparagus on the side, Doc’s Marina Grill does a mean Crab Louie. Toss yours in Doc’s house-made Louie dressing to finish.

Duke's Chowder House | Multiple Locations

While Duke’s uses a more creative name for their Crab Louie, it’s a key addition to our list of amazing crab salads to enjoy around Seattle. Head to one of their locations throughout the city for lunch or dinner, and put in your order for an “I Hear the Ocean Fresh” salad. It’s topped with both Dungeness crab from the northwest coast and wild Mexican Pacific prawns, plus bleu cheese crumbles, avocado and cucumber pico de gallo for a southwest spin. As a bonus, this salad is totally gluten-free!

Lowell's Restaurant | 1519 Pike Place | 206-622-2036

With quick and easy access to some of the freshest seafood and produce, Lowell’s Restaurant in Pike Place Market serves up a delicious Market Seafood Salad that’s very Louie-like. As an excellent taste of seafood samples from the market, it’s got Dungeness crab of course, plus fresh King salmon that’s alderwood smoked for extra flavor, and tiger prawns. Then long beans, cucumbers, egg, and tomatoes finish the dish. Drizzle some Thousand Island dressing to bring all of those flavors together.
