Where To Eat a Gluten Free Burger in Seattle

There’s a burger on most menus for New American eateries in addition to being offered at every grill and diner. But sadly, this popular grilled or broiled sandwich is often served on a bun that’s not okay for those of us who eat gluten-free to consume. Burgers are a close second to pizza on the list of crowd favorites, and since I’ve already covered gluten-free pizza restaurants, it’s high time to highlight those spots in Seattle where you can chow down on a gluten-free burger.

Blue Moon Burgers | Multiple Locations

From their build-your-own options, to the burger of the month and tasty signatures like the Code Blue and the El Diablo Azul, all of the sandwiches at Blue Moon Burgers can be prepared on a gluten-free bun. Or give their Paleo Burger a try: ⅓-pound beef burger with cherry smoked bacon, fried egg, red onions, Blue Moon sauce and the fixin’s in a lettuce wrap. Gluten-free burgers can be had at all four Blue Moon Burgers locations.

Doc’s Marina Grill | 403 Madison Ave S | 206-842-8339

At Doc’s Marina Grill on Bainbridge Island, both of the restaurant’s acclaimed burgers are available on a gluten-free bun. The Big Doc Burger is a classic cheeseburger (Tillamook cheddar, Pepper Jack or Swiss are the options) with the classic toppings and double smoked hickory bacon if you please. The El Portal is another story - savory and spicy smoked habañero blue cheese sauce, double smoked hickory bacon, pepper jack cheese and the usual trimmings. Fried onions are also a topping on the El Portal, but they’re fried with a little bit of flour so you may want to forgo them if your gluten allergy is severe.

Rain City Burgers | 6501 Roosevelt Way NE | 206-525-3542

Since 2010, Rain City Burgers has been serving up excellent burgers made from super fresh ingredients, with a special Seattle edge and tons of pride in our sports teams. From classic burgers to specialties like Rain City’s specialties that are named for our sports teams, get ‘em all on a gluten free bun! I recommend the Sounders Burger, with cream cheese, jalapeño, garlic, bacon, and pepper jack cheese (pictured).

Teddy’s Bigger Burgers | 6900 Greenlake Way N | 206-582-1885

The claim to fame at all Teddy’s Bigger Burgers locations is the size of their burgers - they are stacked high with all of your favorite burger trimmings, leaving nothing out except by request. IN addition to Teddy’s original, Teriyaki and Monster Double Burgers, you can enjoy any one of their specialty burgers with a gluten free bun or lettuce wrap!

Uneeda Burger | 4302 Fremont Ave N | 206-547-2600

Expect quality at Uneeda Burger, where the burgers are made with ⅓-pound of all-natural beef from painted hills and the trimmings are as fresh as can be! Uneeda Burger’s signatures are all available on a gluten-free bun, which means that you can enjoy an amazing Philly Smash, Crimini Mushrooms, or alternate Uneeda favorite that won’t mess with your dietary restrictions.
