PORTLAND - JUNE 10TH 2015 - The Where To Eat Guide is proud to sponsor the first annual Oyster Apocalypse on Saturday, June 20th. Hosted by Dan & Louis Oyster Bar in downtown Portland, this event will feature a barbecue oyster competition, a vodka cocktail competition, live music and a very special menu from Dan & Louis. Special guest judges of the oyster competition include Jason Staats, President of The Where To Eat Guide, Keoni Wachsmuth, Executive Chef and Owner of Dan & Louis Oyster Bar and Ryan Fox, Executive Chef and Owner of Nomad PDX. The competition will be black box style (think a version of “Chopped” that’s all about oysters) and feature chefs from RingSide Fish House, The Fireside and Bottle + Kitchen. We are proud to partner with Effen Vodka to present a vodka cocktail competition as a part of this event. Special judges of the vodka competition include Natalie Migliarini, owner of Beautiful Booze, Justin Siemer of Rhum St. Barth and Destiny Jessiman, Bar Manager of Dan & Louis Oyster Bar. Some of your favorite bartenders from Ankeny Alley as well as Effen Vodka reps will compete and guests will be able to cast their vote for their favorite cocktail and oyster bite as well!
This event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. and is free of charge thanks to all of our wonderful cosponors: Hotel Rose, Full Sail Brewing Company, Argyle Winery, Effen Vodka and Goose Point Oyster.
